Who Can Join?
CTAQ membership is open to clinical faculty affiliated with Queen's University and its teaching hospitals. Eligible members include clinicians who:
- Hold an academic appointment within Queen's University Faculty of Medicine; and/or
- Hold an attending staff appointment at a Queen's University-affiliated teaching hospital.
By bringing together clinicians from a broad range of specialties and departments, CTAQ provides a collective voice for those who contribute to patient care, medical education, research, and scholarly activity.

Benefits of Membership
As a member of the Clinical Teachers' Association of Queen's University (CTAQ), you gain access to a range of benefits designed to support your professional, academic, and personal well-being throughout your career as a clinical teacher.
Advocacy and Representation
CTAQ is the collective voice of clinical teachers at Queen's. Through active participation in SEAMO governance and numerous committees, CTAQ advocates for physicians on matters including compensation, recruitment, wellness, academic affairs, funding, and strategic planning. CTAQ representatives work directly with Queen's University, Kingston Health Sciences Centre, Providence Care, and SEAMO to ensure members' interests are heard and represented.
Tuition Support
Eligible members have access to the Tuition Support Plan, which provides reimbursement for approved educational expenses for members and their dependents. Reimbursement of up to $4,000 per calendar year for eligible applicants. CTAQ membership in good standing is required for eligibility.
Childcare Support
CTAQ members may be eligible for childcare reimbursement through the Childcare Support Plan. Support of up to $2,250 per child per calendar year for eligible expenses. Membership in good standing is required to access this benefit.
Research Endowment Fund
The CTAQ Research Endowment Fund supports members in developing and advancing their research programs. Eligible physicians may apply for funding through annual competitions, helping foster innovation, scholarship, and academic excellence within Queen's Medicine.
Ombudsperson Services
Members have access to a confidential Ombudsperson who can provide advice, guidance, and assistance in addressing concerns related to university, hospital, or professional matters. This service offers members an independent resource for support and problem-solving.
A Voice in Governance
CTAQ members help shape the future of the organization through participation in annual and special meetings. Members can vote on key matters including leadership, budgets, dues, governance changes, and other important decisions affecting the clinical teaching community.
Information, Education, and Engagement
CTAQ keeps members informed about developments affecting clinical teachers and academic medicine. Through member meetings, annual general meetings, newsletters, and website updates, members receive information on governance initiatives, financial matters, wellness programs, benefits, and other issues of importance to the clinical teaching community.
Annual Dues
CTAQ Dues will be collected via auto-withdrawal for the July 2026 - June 2027 academic year. If you have opted out of auto-withdrawal, please pay via one of these two options:

- Security answer/password - ctaqdues (You can make up any question, but the answer must be ctaqdues)
- Please include your First AND Last Name when submitting the e-transfer request so the correct physician is credited.
