
An application package that includes the Queen’s University CIP Application form, a statement of career plans (approx. 1 page), project description (approx. 2-3 pages), trainees CV, transcripts, three confidential letters of reference, a letter and CV from the proposed Supervisor(s) indicating supervisory agreement and project description and a letter of support from the trainee’s clinical Department Postgraduate Committee Chair is required for submission by November 30th of the year prior to the next July 1st start date.
Before an application can be submitted, the candidate/supervisor must also provide documentation that a plan for funding, at the equivalent PGY level of the candidate, is in place for the second year of the program (funding for the first year will be provided by the CIP); candidates will be encouraged to apply for internal and/or external peer-reviewed salary research awards during their training period (see covering letter for planned funding support for the program through the Postgraduate and Dean’s office for the Faculty of Health Sciences). The candidate and supervisor are then required to present their request to the Selection Subcommittee who will report their recommendation back to the CIP Faculty Committee as stated.
