The Voices Rock Medicine Online Choir for women physicians has been together since 2021 and has proven to be a wonderful source of community, wellness, and an outlet in song for many women physicians. It started as a pilot project offshoot of the Voices Rock Medicine choir from Toronto during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was such a success that it has continued now for its third season. Interested in singing? Want to try something different for wellness / self-care? Come sing with us! This choir is open membership; no audition is required.
The choir meets weekly on zoom to rehearse pop and rock songs in three part harmony arranged specifically for us. Over the season, there are additional opportunities to participate in other Voices Rock Medicine events. In 2022-2023 a choir made up of members from all four Voices Rock Medicine choirs performed at the Canadian Women in Medicine conference, and in early June we gathered for a singing and vocal workshop retreat in Ottawa. We are also hoping to have some in-person choir workshops this year for women physicians in Kingston, and are also hoping to have a pilot of an in-person Voices Rock choir in Kingston in the fall of 2024.
