Indigenous Health Day is a dedicated, full-day learning experience focused on advancing culturally safe, respectful, and responsive health care for Indigenous peoples. Grounded in Indigenous perspectives and lived experience, this program invites health professionals to deepen their understanding of the historical and ongoing impacts of colonialism, systemic racism, and inequity on Indigenous health outcomes.
Through expert-led sessions, dialogue, and reflection, participants will explore practical approaches to improving care, strengthening relationships, and supporting Indigenous self-determination within health systems. Topics will span clinical practice, systems-level change, and the responsibilities of health professionals as learners, allies, and advocates.
This is a day about listening with humility, gaining new insights for clinical practice, examining our roles within existing structures, and committing to meaningful, sustained change in how care is delivered. Indigenous Health Day aims to create space for learning that is honest, respectful, and action-oriented, supporting better health outcomes for Indigenous communities now and into the future.
