Each year, the Postgraduate Medical Education Office hosts many educational events for all levels of residency. Please be reminded that the format (e.g. in-person to virtual) are subject to change, so we encourage you to check back regularly and check your email for updates.

August 6, 2026	Queen’s Conference on Academic Residency Education (QCARE) In-person with a virtual option	Mandatory participation for PGY 1 residents. Participation is open to subspecialty trainees and fellows at their program’s discretion.
September 23, 2026	Indigenous Health Day	Mandatory participation for PGY 1 residents. Open to all subspecialty trainees at the discretion of their program.
October 28, 2026	The Research Gateway: Preparing Residents for Scientific Inquiry (Research Day) In-person	Attendance is strongly recommended for all PGY 1 residents.
October 15, 2026	Resident Leadership Workshop	Resident Leads, Chiefs, QRMEC and RAC.
November 19, 2026	Virtual Queen’s Conference on Academic Residency Education Plus (QCARE+)	Upper year residents are invited to attend and must attend one workshop by their final year.
September 2026 to June 2027	CMPA Patient Safety Primer: medico-legal essentials for residents 2.5-hour virtual workshop	Mandatory for all residents.
Anytime One-hour webinars	Faculty Development Passport: This is an ongoing, regularly updated online platform that serves as a centralized hub for resources, accredited modules, courses, trackable certificates, and support services in one place.	All residents and clinical fellows.
June 11, 2027	Convocation	Residents and Clinical fellows who are completing their programs. Invitations sent directly to invited guests.
TBC	Virtual KHSC/PGME Orientation	All new residents and clinical fellows.
