Dr. Dan Howes has been a passionate proponent of simulation in medical education for almost 20 years. In his role as Director, Dan is dedicated to supporting the Queen’s Clinical Simulation Centre staff create a positive, innovative space for a full spectrum of learners.
Dr. Howes is dual certified in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, and has had a career focus on Resuscitation Medicine. Dan is a Professor in the Departments of Critical Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine, and serves as the current Head of the Department of Critical Care Medicine. Dan is the founder and director of the Kingston Resuscitation Institute, and started the first Fellowship in Resuscitation and Reanimation through the Department of Emergency Medicine at Queen’s. When not at work, he is happiest in the woods playing with his wife and two children.
