Rebecca Leclair grew up in Brockville, Ontario before moving to Hamilton, Ontario to complete her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at McMaster University. During this time, she worked in the Education Program in Anatomy as a teaching assistant, cadaveric prosector and education researcher. Her experiences fostered a strong interest in medicine, surgery, and its intersection with education, ultimately leading her to attend medical school and general surgery residency at Queen’s University.
Currently, Rebecca is a third-year general surgery resident completing a Master of Education at Queen’s University. Her research focuses on technology enhanced surgical education, and assessment and feedback. She is currently studying the integration of artificial intelligence driven feedback in surgical simulation. Ultimately, her goal is to become an academic hepatobiliary surgeon with a research focus in surgical education.
Outside of clinical work and research, Rebecca spends most of her time reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
