Clinical History

Patients describe sensory abnormalities in different ways. For example:

1) They may describe it as an absence or reduction in feeling such as:

  • The affected part feels numb/dead/thick
  • Objects feel coarse
  • They can’t tell temperature
  • They can’t feel texture

2) They may describe it as altered function such as:
  • They can’t hold on to or pick things up
  • They have difficulty walking at night
  • They have to watch feet while walking
