There is certain background information that is important for you to review while you complete this module. Some of this information will be included as part of the module, and some you will need to access through independent or group research:

1. Information regarding the mechanisms and anatomy pertinent to understanding SCI

2. Information regarding the OT role in SCI rehabilitation

3. Current non governmental organizations (NGOs) that support those living with SCI in the community

4. Occupational engagement post-SCI

5. Wheelchair prescription, and assistive devices available to those who have sustained an SCI

6. Environmental modifications appropriate for wheelchair and mobility device users in the home and community
