The scoliosis is small, however the patient has not yet entered her rapid adolescent growth spurt. It will be important to follow this patient regularly (every 4-6 months) to identify rapid curve progression. A radiologic bone age (hand and wrist xray) may help to estimate how many years of growth remain. In general, girls grow for 18-24 months following their menarche and so one would expect this girl to require follow-up for at least two years.
