The roles of the remaining conservative measures are not clear, since either more investigation is needed (therapeutic ultrasound, massage therapy, accupuncture) or there is little evidence to support their use (NSAIDs, diuretics, pyridoxine). The evidence that is available is of a secondary quality so its conclusions must be applied conservatively. Although, the aforementioned treatments should not be used as first line treatment, they may have some complimentary value. Remember to always weigh the risks and benefits when proposing any treatment modality.
