The Henry Albert Beatty Fellowship is a one year salary award for Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) residents applying to the Clinician Investigator Program (CIP) in order to obtain a graduate degree while enrolled in a residency training program at Queen’s University. <br>Application for the Henry Albert Beatty Fellowship is a two-stage process. The Cecil Reid Patience Fellowship is a one year salary award for Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) residents applying to the Clinician Investigator Program (CIP) in order to obtain a graduate degree while enrolled in a residency training program at Queen’s University.

The Dr. Katherine M. Detre Award was established by a bequest from the estate of Dr. Detre who received her medical degree from Queen's in 1952 after arriving in Canada from Hungary. She went on to become a distinguished professor of Epidemiology and is remembered for her extraordinary warmth and spirit.
This award is given annually to an International Medical Graduate in a residency program at Queen's University to support further training. The award will be granted on the basis of financial need.

The William E. O'Hara postgraduate bursary was established in 2002 by a bequest from the estate of William E. O'Hara, MD. 1946, and awarded on the basis of financial need to residents registered in a postgraduate medical education program in the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen's University.
Process: Application for this bursary is made by sending a completed application form to the Postgraduate Medical Education Office.

The PARO Trust Fund's Resident Teaching Award has been established as an annual award to honour one resident in each Ontario medical school. The recipient of the award will be a resident who provides outstanding clinical teaching experiences to junior housestaff and clinical clerks. Each university has developed a method best suited to their environment in order to solicit nominations and make a selection.
The PARO Trust Fund's Resident Teaching Award is presented at an annual celebration in Toronto. The award recipient and his/her guest are invited to attend and provided accommodation to stay in Toronto. The award of $1000.00 is received at the PARO Clinical Teaching Awards banquet which is traditionally held in May of each year.

Established by Michael and Betty Dicketts and awarded to residents registered in a postgraduate medical education program in the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences. Awarded on the basis of the resident’s ITERS (evaluations) and to residents that embody the characteristics of the CanMEDS roles (Medical Expert, Professional, Communicator, Collaborator, Manager, Scholar, Health Advocate).
Selection will be made by the Postgraduate Medical Education Awards Committee in the School of Medicine, based on nominations from the Program Director and the Residency Program Committee.
Nominations must be made by submission of a letter of nomination to the Associate Dean of PGME. Supporting materials should include a evaluations and how the resident exemplifies the CanMEDS roles.

Establishment of Award
The Ron Wigle Mentorship Award was established in the School of Medicine at Queen’s University to honour Dr. Ronald Wigle in recognition of his role as outstanding mentor and the professional values he epitomized throughout his career.
Purpose of Award
Dr. Wigle was committed to promoting the success of others to the ultimate benefit of the medical community at large. Throughout his exemplary career at Queen's University, numerous faculty, undergraduate and graduate students flourished through his wise guidance and encouraging leadership. This award, named in his honor, will help to perpetuate these important virtues by recognizing those who embody them.
This award will be presented consistent with the following guidelines:
The Dr. Sanjay Sharma Clinical Resident Award was established in May 2014.
The Dr. Sanjay Sharma Clinical Resident Award was established to provide an award to a postgraduate resident for "going above and beyond the call of duty" in providing outstanding patient care.
The Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education will notify the Award Recipient and their Program Director in June of each year.
