Life After Life Sciences - Graduate Scholarship Information
Records show that almost half of the graduates from the life science program have continued their education to qualify for a professional career in medicine, dentistry, law, chiropractic, speech pathology, etc. About a quarter of the graduates have found employment in business, government or industry. University education and research careers attract about a fifth of the graduates and a smaller, but significant proportion, have entered the teaching profession.

Funding for Queen's Graduate Students
Many full-time graduate students are eligible to receive Queen's Graduate Awards as part of their funding packages. The QGA is administered by the School of Graduate Studies, based on recommendations from individual departments.

The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) program encourages excellence in graduate studies at the master's and doctoral levels.An OGS is awarded for one academic year, which may consist of two or three consecutive terms. One-term awards are not granted. For 2012–2013, the value of the OGS is $5,000 per term. Thus, an award holder may receive $10,000 for two consecutive terms or $15,000 for three consecutive terms.
Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada
The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program is designed to attract and retain world-class doctoral students by offering them a significant financial award to assist them during their studies at Canadian universities. Vanier Scholars demonstrate leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health-related fields. Canadian and international students are eligible to be nominated for a Vanier Scholarship, which is valued at $50,000 per year for up to three years.
