Welcome to the Gastrointestinal Diseases Research Unit (GIDRU) at Queen's University: A unique Basic / Clinical Science Collaboration.


GIDRU is a diverse multidisciplinary group, drawing its membership from the Departments of Medicine, Surgery and Pathology and basic science faculty from the Departments of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology and Immunology and Physiology.

Many of the clinical members are cross-appointed in basic science departments to facilitate joint supervision of research students and fellows. These strong links between the laboratory bench and the bedside are one of the major strengths of the unit.








 


Recent Events
CCFC Gutsy Walk
On Sunday, June 10, Team GIDRU walked to help find a cure in the Gutsy Walk for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada. The weather was perfect, and over $28,000 was raised by the Kingston walk. A huge thankyou to all who took part or volunteered!
