My longterm goal is to create a combined clinical and research program for the study of gastrointestinal food allergic disorders. Currently, we are working in the area of esophagitis, both acid-induced and eosinophilic esopahgitis related to allergy. We have created a model of esophagitis using an esophageal epithelial cell line and we are exploring signal transduction pathways in these cells leading to pro-inflammatory cytokine production.
