Welcome to the Gastrointestinal Diseases Research Unit (GIDRU) at Queen's University: A unique Basic / Clinical Science Collaboration.
GIDRU is a diverse multidisciplinary group, drawing its membership from the Departments of Medicine, Surgery and Pathology and basic science faculty from the Departments of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology and Immunology and Physiology.
Many of the clinical members are cross-appointed in basic science departments to facilitate joint supervision of research students and fellows. These strong links between the laboratory bench and the bedside are one of the major strengths of the unit.
