Which repositories are useful to the Health Sciences?

Health Education Assets Library (HEAL)

Heal offers a collection of over 20,000 freely available health sciences learning objects. Many of the LOs in HEAL are peer-reviewed. Endorsed by the Association of American Medical Colleges, HEAL has received funding from the National Library of Medicine and the National Science Foundation in the United States. Passwords are not required to view resources but free registration is required before downloading resources.

MedEdPortal, funded by the Association of American Medical Colleges, provides a access to a variety of teaching material including tutorials, lab manuals, cases, evaluation forms, faculty development, and virtual patients. While resources are thoroughly described, the user must often contact the author to obtain access to the full item (however, some resources are available directly). No password is required.

This Canadian resource is available to all medical schools through the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada. HealthLibrary.ca contains multimedia objects, clinical images, interactive cases, animations, videos, and audio files. Users are required to obtain a username and password before searching.
