As the Chief Medical Advisor at the WSCC, a Crown Corporation, you will have the opportunity to make a positive and sustainable difference in people’s lives. You will work directly in an advisory capacity supporting claims administration and adjudication, and be responsible for providing medical advisory services to the adjudications and Review Committee staff. Although primarily working in the fields of disability management and occupational medicine, you will also participate in workshops and initiatives as the representative of the WSCC. There is a clinical component to the position that involves assessing the causes of work-related injuries and diseases, monitoring treatments, assessing impairments, and assisting injured workers in returning to work.
Some travel is required as the WSCC also has an office in Iqaluit.
An accomplished healthcare practitioner, you have demonstrated energy, strategic acuity and possess outstanding communication skills to work with diverse stakeholders. You are a medical doctor practicing in Canada, ideally with a focus in family practice, occupational rehabilitation, sports medicine or a similar field.

Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is seeking Anaesthesiologists to join our group to provide anaesthetic care. Our 75-bed hospital serves a large geographical area that includes 100,000 in population. Surgical services include General , Orthopedic, OB/Gyne, ENT, Plastics, Urology and Ophthalmology. Labour Analgesia service provided for approximately 300 deliveries per year, epidural rate approx 15%. Anesthesia Consultation Clinic and Acute Pain Management in place. Possible ICU work if interested. On call hours: 1:4-1:5 May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: 11.34% Retention Premium; $9,914.40 Annual Retention Flat Fee; and $15,000 Recruitment Incentive. May be eligible for Recruitment Visit Reimbursement of $3,500 ($7,000 per International candidate) and Relocation Reimbursement of $10,000 ($15,000 per international candidate moving in excess of 3,000km). - Staffed by family physicians, pediatrician, emergency docs, dietitian, chiropodist, psychotherapist, urologist, physiatrist, dermatologist and naturopathic physician
