Welcome to the Clinical Teachers' Association of Queen's University (CTAQ).

CTAQ is an Ontario Corporation that is currently composed of Geographical Full Time (GFT) members of the School of Medicine at Queen's University who have Attending Staff privileges at one of the Kingston Teaching hospitals.

Why CTAQ is Important to You!
The Role of CTAQ can be briefly summarized by this excerpt from the incorporation document:

"To advance and promote the welfare of teaching clinicians in hospitals associated with Queen's University in the broadest sense."

CTAQ is most visible in its role as one of the five signatories of the South Eastern Ontario Academic Medical Organization (SEAMO). CTAQ, along with Kingston General Hospital, Hotel Dieu Hospital, Providence Continuing Care and Queen’s University entered into an alternate funding arrangement with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care in 1994.

The majority of the funding for clinical teachers is provided through this arrangement. The contract is renegotiated about every 4 years.   We are your voice in contract negotiations!

Once an agreement has been reached with the MOHLTC, the CTAQ Executive is actively involved in the governance of SEAMO. CTAQ has 5 elected members on the SEAMO Governing Committee. This representation gives us a very strong voice in SEAMO and provides an important forum for communication and cooperation with the university and teaching hospitals.
